My travel to Cebu

Last April I went with my son to Cebu for our long planned summer trip.  I search for hotels in Tripadvisor and Agoda. I decided to book with Cebu Business Hotel because they have discount during weekends and also near seven eleven and the port to Bohol.  I also book with Cebutrip tours for a guided tour inclusive with transportation.  We went there last April 13 and decided to have the guided tour the next day.  We went to Magellans Shrine, Lapu lapu monument, Alegre guitar factory, Taoist Temple, Cebu Heritage Monument, YapSandiego Ancestral’ House, Magellan’s cross and Basilica Minore del Sto Nino.

On the first day that we arrived in Cebu we went to Ayala Mall

Our spacious room in Cebu Business Hotel, We stayed there for three days and two nights for only 1,900 pesos all in, with our choice of breakfast for two persons. The room also has aircon, cable TV and Hot Shower. There is also free wifi but with a weak signal. It was a cozy place to sleep although I notice that it was rather nosy (music) the first night we were there, cause it is a Saturday and there was some kind of an event there.

In the Hotel lobby while we wait for our day tour in the Queen of the South, Cebu City

At Alegre Guitar factory, where I buy souvenirs.  The quality guitars here are handmade and exported globally

At Magellan Shrine, our guide said that this is the spot where Ferdinand Magellan died

At Lapu lapu monument, in honor of the first Filipino Hero
We had our free lunch in Joven's Grill, It was a buffet eat all you can lunch.  I ate a raw octopus that was seasoned with vinegar and coconut milk.  I really regretted doing so 'cause I developed an itchy skin allergy that lasted for a month.

We went to Taoist Temple, our guide told us that the original monks here were Chinese and they modeled this from the great wall of china.  The landscape was really picturesque.

This is the Yap Sandiego Ancestral House, believed to be the oldest house still standing in Cebu City and estimated to be three hundred years old. This is the bedroom and it really gives me the creeps, it's like a scene from a horror film but it never stops me from striking a pose.

It was really a sunny day during our visit to Basilica Minore del Sto Nino. (Sto Nino Church) There were so many people attending mass there (It was Sunday) and so many foreigners as well. Inside the church is the oldest black Sto Nino ( a replica of the baby Jesus) believed to be miraculous. As a Catholic I also prayed there and pay my respects to baby Jesus.  At the back there is a store full of statue and images of Sto Nino, of course, I bought two statues for my mother and me.  The Catholic church was first built in 1565 as you can see in the picture below.

This is a picture of Ferdinand Magellan's Cross, He brought this with him during his expedition to the Philippines.  The real cross was encased in an outer cross to preserve it. In the past the faithful Catholics believed that the wood from the cross is miraculous and chip a bit from the cross to bring it with them.

It was really fun in Cebu and I intend to go there again in the future.  I think the cab/taxis there are much safer than in Manila City.

Having a great time at Pearl Farm Davao

waiting for the boat
our cottage
my favorite place in th resort....pool
facing the beach

Last Saturday we had a company summer outing at Pearl Farm Davao.  I nearly missed it because a night before my daughter had a fever and it did persist in the morning.  Anyway last year I did not attend our company outing because my daughter also got sick and was hospitalized but this year I still decided to join.  Before I went to Davao that day I have instructed her nanny to check her temperature from time to time and let her take in paracetamol every five hours.  To ensure that she will give her paracetamol at the right time I've jot down in the calendar on the wall what time she will intake the medicine.  I've also called her when we got there.  We traveled early in the morning because we were instructed by our colleagues that we have to get there before 7:30 am and travel time was a minimum of one and a half hours.  We got there on time and I was so relieved that there was a free brewed flowing coffee and sandwich waiting for us there because I was so hungry.  We skipped breakfast that day to arrive early.  We had a great time that day and I swim in the pool the whole day.

Travel to Okinawa Japan

I’ve always wanted to travel to Japan to visit my ancestors. It might be a dream come true for me if that happens. The problem is I really don’t know the surname of my ancestors, all I know is my Grand Father’s father is Japanese and no matter how my father ask about it, he doesn’t tell him about it even in death. May God bless his soul! My son get his Japanese looks from my father and my Grandpa while I get my looks from my mom so we did not really look alike.

If ever you want to go to Okinawa Japan like me you might want to check out this link. This site has valuable information on Hotels and Ryokan. You just have to enter the location you want to visit and it is there. You can choose the location and rates per person for the accommodation. This site also has valuable information on various Okinawa Beaches. If you want to have tour ideas on where to go in Okinawa Japan this site definitely has information on scenic locations.

Faro is a city in Portugal and the capital of the Algarve. There are many excellent beaches within this city that makes it a favorite destination for visitors in the summer. It has so many historical sites that will definitely catch the attention of tourist. One notable sight is the Baroque Igreja do Carmo near the central post office on Largo do Camo. It is open from Monday to Friday at 10:00 -1:00 pm and 3:00 – 5:00 pm and 10:00 am – 1:00 pm on Saturdays. A door to the right of the altar leads to a macabre Capela dos Ossos, its walls are decorated with bones from the adjacent cemetery. Another worthwhile attraction near the city is the Ria Formosa Natural Park, and a short distance to the north is the peaceful village of Estoi, boasting a pink Roccoco palace and Roman ruins dating from the 1st century. To enjoy the beach while on holiday in Faro, one has to travel a few miles; a long sandy spit lies across a bridge near the International Airport. Aside from the places mentioned here there are still many historical attractions that is very worthwhile to visit.

To enjoy your stay there you need to find good accommodation in Faro. The first in the list is Hotel Monaco.
